Bathroom Renovation | PART 2

STANLEY AND MAUD X KOHLER*
PART 2 | The Grand Reveal
AD | If you haven't read part 1 I suggest you grab a cuppa and have a read...you NEED to see the 'before' to this project because even though it's mine I can't believe it...
I will be forever grateful to Kohler for honestly bringing my dream to life...yes I know I'm dramatic but I am SO in love.
Our old, yellow, hideous shiny bathroom is now the luxurious bathroom I had hoped for...I almost don't want to let the children in...apparently it's not the norm to have a 'mummy bathroom' and a 'daddy and children downstairs bathroom' so I'll allow them in.
So here it is...my new pride and joy...
I honestly can't believe it's mine (ours) ;) my printed out moodboard has come to life and I'm absolutely thrilled and happy with every single corner of the room. I can't believe the transformation! Renovating this room has had it's challenges but it's a room I shall love and appreciate for a very long time.
The detail and workmanship on the Kohler products are second to none, I am so impressed with the quality and I'm already bookmarking products for the downstairs shower room (I don't dare tell B yet...I'll let him have a little break!).
P E R S I A & P U R I S T
(AKA the basin of dreams) like I mentioned in part one the Persia basin is a vessel style and the detail sold it to me I knew it would be perfect for the bathroom design and my love for mixed metals. I saw this chest of drawers online and I knew it'd make the perfect sideboard with a few tweaks (queue B's skills) and they just complimented one another...it was like it was meant to be. We decided on the Purist mixer tap as it's classic design would sit beautifully alongside the Persia but not steal it's glory. I pondered the idea of matching taps coming out of the wall above the basin but decided that a mixer tap would be best suited for our family.
P U R I S T Bath Spout & Taps
I pondered a lot about having just a bath but after discussing with Kohler my 'needs' for this room I decided against adding any kind of shower head and keeping it solely as a bathroom, a place to relax and just feel blooming fabulous. I like 'matching' brassware and I love the cross handle design on the Purist taps. You can't appreciate how well made and sturdy they are until you see them in real life, they are just beautiful.
C L E O
Oh the Cleo, it was most definitely love at first sight. When I knew I wanted a traditional look I knew this bath was THE ONE. I mentioned before I like to feel like the Queen in the bath and this is just that. I'm 5'7 and I literally sink into it...having a bath now is like having one of those posh hotel baths although I'm still a mother and it's not all glam, I will still find a lego person or superhero amongst the bubbles. There's discreet non slip at the bottom too which is perfect for the children...they absolutely love it too! We now all fight over who's having one first...although I made B have the first bath just in case the structural engineer got the calculations wrong for reinforcing the floor! HAHA! The feet arrive primed so they're ready to be painted in your colour of choice...I opted for Farrow and Ball Pitch Black which we had mixed in AllCoat Matte. I can't tell you how heavy/absolutely stunning the legs are...even B was excited. Every aspect of the room was chosen around this beautiful bath...I can't tell you how happy and lucky I feel.
I have absolutely LOVED this project...it's been amazing to work with Kohler and I am so delighted to be the proud owner of some of their products.
Renovations can be such hard work and there's times when you can't see the end but my goodness it's worth every penny and every speck of dust. Our home will continue to be a project but it's one I know we'll love doing and appreciate for years to come.
Thank you SO much for reading! I'd love to hear about your next project! I don't dare tell B my next plans...!
Wish me luck!
With Love,
Charlotte X
